Toothache
Remedies
I know you came here looking for toothache
remedies in a bottle. You were hoping that someone had
discovered this magical toothache medicine you could rub on
your tooth to stop your toothache.
Maybe you came looking for a toothache
remedy you could even make at home.

Unfortunately toothache remedies such as these
simply don't exist.
I'm not saying that you can't find temporary
relief from a toothache from some home remedies.
But if you want permanent
toothache remedies you will need to see your dentist.
There's simply no way around it.
You're probably wondering why you can take
medicines such as antibiotics for other ailments but not for
your toothache.
First of all, you can take pain medication and
antibiotics for temporary relief of pain and swelling from an
inflamed or infected tooth.
|
With home remedies
for a toothache, your toothache will return
because of something very unique about
teeth.
|
Teeth contain pulp tissue (nerve and blood
supply) that is completely encased within the hard
structures of the tooth.
That means medication can't get to the pulp. An
infected pulp just sits inside the tooth and becomes the source
of infection for the surrounding bone until it is removed.
None of the toothache remedies you may have
heard about can get inside the tooth and treat the diseased
pulp.
Placing a medicament on the gum may bring some temporary relief
but it will not cure your toothache problem.
There are only two definitive toothache
remedies: tooth removal and root canal treatment.
Before I talk about these I do need to mention
that a gum abscess can cause a sore tooth. It doesn't usually
result in a severe toothache. In this case gum treatment will
cause resolution of the problem.
There are also other problems that can feel
like a toothache. That's why it is so important to see your
dentist at the first sign of pain, swelling, or anything else
unusual.

A typical toothache will have one or more of
these symptoms:
You're looking for toothache remedies when you
have one of these kinds of toothache! But the goal of a
permanent toothache remedy is to get rid of the diseased
pulp.
Both tooth removal and root canal treatment
will
accomplish this goal.
Tooth removal is certainly a quick and easy
tootache remedy. But it leaves a space that can cause some
problems in the future.
Some people also see this as the cheaper
option. On the day of treatment it is less expensive.
But replacing this tooth at some future time can actually be
more expensive.
Root canal treatment is the best of the
toothache remedies. Your tooth is saved through a non-surgical
procedure that is predictable and successful.
Millions of root canals are performed each year
around the world. Approximately 95% of these are
successful.
I know, this wasn't what you were looking for.
You were looking for other toothache remedies beside a root
canal treatment.
But I would like to encourage you to consider a
root canal for your toothache remedy if your dentist tells you
that is what you need.

Don't let fear and anxiety keep you
from saving your tooth with a root canal
treatment.
